Tourist Interview

Last Friday we went to Barcelona and we did some interviews to the tourists.

The first pair of tourists we interviewed had just arrived, they were a mother and a daugther. They came here by plane and they planed to stay for a couple of days. What they liked the most about Barcelona was the weather. They didn't have had time to visit anything because they just arrived and ate on a Burger King.

The other tourists I interviewed were from Amsterdam, and they has already been in Barcelona and they were staying here for three days. They just arrived as well but they visited el barri gotic, la catedral and el parc de la ciutadella. They knew a little bit of spanish and catalan and they were very nice.

Spring

Every year I get very exited about spring because it's my favorite station of the year. It's my favorite because it means the cold has gone away, and the rains will come and eventually the warm. I also like it because it's the in between of "cold" and hot, where you can leave the house at the morning with a jacket but then it gets hotter and you can wear a strap-less top or a short sleeves shirt. You don't sofocate but you aren't freezing. It also means Setmana Santa is coming and the time change. The afternoons seem more long and this time of the year makes me very happy and optimistic. When it's sunny outside in the afternoons it makes me want to go out running or with the bike and do things basically.

My Hobbie

My hobbie is doing make-up on myself. But not normal make-up, I really enjoy body painting and sfx make-up (it's gore make-up for horror or action films for example). I started doing make-up this year, a few months ago, I saw a video on youtube about a girl painting half of her face into a skull and I thought it looked very cool and I wanted to try it. I was very proud of the finish result, because it was my first time doing it and it came out very decently. After this I started doing make-up more frequently, watching videos and tutorials. At first I didn't have fake blood, or special paints or anything specific really, and I did this finger cut with things I already owned. This shows that you don't need a lot to do what you like as long as you are insistent and interested.

Alexander Khokhlov

Alexander Khokhlov is a photographer based in Moscow. He is known for his portraits where he mixes face-art and diferent textures to create an eye-tricking work.

His interest in photography started in 2007, but in 2008 was the year when everything changed and he discovered fashion and beauty photography. At this time he was studying courses and master classes, and he came  with his own ideas and he organized his firsts photoshoots.

In 2012 he created an exposition named Weird Beauty where all the pictures were photos of a model’s face painted in different ways but always in white and black. The photo Silhouette from Weird Beauty was chosen as the promo image of the 11th Dubai Film Festival.
And in 2013 he created 2D or not 2D with the collaboration of the make-up artist and also his wife, Valeriya Kutsan. This exposition transforms models into 2D paintings creating a really amazing efects where sometimes you can’t tell if it’s 2D or not 2D.

They also made some personification make-up. The result of the transformation into Marge Simpson made by Alexander and Veronica in 2014 was scary but attracting - the YouTube backstage video got more than 1,500 000 views and is still popular.

This time Alexander and Veronica are working on the project called Shapes and illusions. The new series continue author's challenge to transform people into different forms. This project combines the techniques of face-art, photography and decoration.

My new hair

Recently I bleached my hair. For a very long time I wanted white and silver hair, and the only way to do it was bleaching my hair. It didn't came out how I wanted. It was bright yellow because I had dyed my hair red, and the red turned into yellow. Then, they toned my hair with a purple toner, because the purple is the oposite of yellow in the color wheel and it would cancel all the yellow tones. It got a little better but it still looked blonde. The hairdresser told me I should buy purple shampoo and conditioner to take care of my hair and avoid it turning more yellow.

I wasn't happy with my hair and it wasn't getting better so I looked in the internet for a more powerful toner and I found one. I had to buy it on Amazon because it's not a very common product. It took two weeks to arrive and meanwhile my hair had grown more and I started to have dark roots. I used the toner and it cancelled a lot of the blonde on my hair. At the moment I'm not completly satisfied with my hair but because it's so dry I have to be very careful with how I treat it. I think I will dye it silver or pastel blue because I don't think the white it's going to show off on my hair.Es mostra FullSizeRender.jpg.Es mostra FullSizeRender.jpg.

The refugees' exposition

When we went to Barcelona with the high school, we saw an exposition about the refugees from Syria. I think that the exposition was really pretty, it was outdoors. The photos were a lot more original than what I expected, they weren't the typical photos about Syria and the refugees that you would find in a newspaper. The photos were colorful and beautiful eventhough the sad situacion of those people.
The picture that I choose was taken in a abandoned hotel in Greece used as a refuge for the regufees when they arrive to the island.
